This does not only apply to FLYFF but of course to other games also. Orginally entitled “ROIKA TRADING ETHICS 101 - A GUIDE on HOW to TRADE & GET RICH in Roika without being RUDE” version 1.02 by the prof of FLYFF forums.
This is a very useful penya-making guide that will surely help noobs and even pros to acquire penya in FLYFF. Yes this is legal, no BOT or HACK.
Have you tried venturing one time at the SM market place to look for that coveted weapon or accessories? Upon finding it, you discovered that you don’t have enough penya to buy the item? And for lack of time, selling your other items ASAP seems to be not an option, for fear that another player will get ahead of you on that “precious†item. So, the better alternative? –you strike a barter. You offer all your penyas plus other items to compensate for the price. Right? Then, kabammm!!! You get a reply instead, “walang kwenta yan! no nid!†Or, “awts! Poor!â€Â If you are a sensitive person, two things: either you sulk in despondency and stop playing flyff for good or you retaliate with –“GTH! or FY! or AH!†Oops! Don’t take me wrong; the latter is not advisable for that is a BANNABLE OFFENSE (though I tend to wonder if those guys who gave me those remarks, ie., for refusing their party invitation –mind you, were even banned? Hmmm. Anyways, you can’t rid of them in Roika Land that easy, much less in the World! OMG!)
Kk. Let us get down to business, and accept it: “we can’t get rid of these nice people in Roika,†but we can prevent them from multiplying by NOT EMULATING THEM!. Get the point? You want to get a good deal? You want to amass wealth in Roika Land? And “buy that precious ring! My precious ring! Harkharkhark So, here are a few DO’s and DON’T’s worth adhering to, especially if you are TRADING and you want to GET RICH:
DO’s
- Make a priority item list of the things you really need before buying anything, this will help you avoid ‘impulsive buying, i.e., buying nice things you don’t actually need NOW!’
- Compare prices by canvassing. Start at Server 1. If you have the luxury of time, try to peek at prices at the other servers for there are some items that sells cheaper there, Server 1 prices are more syndicated;
- Write down the prices, so you will have a handy reference when bartering. You will notice that there seems to be an average cap price for an item, thus those who are way up the cap are OP’s and those way below, awts! -the seller needs penya badly or probably a noob like me–buy those! I remember, I sold gore+5 for only 500K and thought I ahd a good deal! Waaaa ! Of course, if you really need those items or you plan to resell them for a good profit ([i]more on this later or refer to nos. 9,10,11 & 14 now);
- Get back ASAP to the lowest price you have scouted. If the item is sold, then work your way up to your list;
- REMEMBER that the economy in Roika is also similar IRL. “Law of supply and demand,†applies. Meaning, if items are very rare and a lot of players are vying to get those, then prices normally will skyrocket. For example, a Dretra+0 sells an average of 18m to 20m a piece when there are many who are vending it. However, in lean times where many Blades are born and seeking to acquire those swords ASAP, a piece would sell between 30m to a whooping 45m –awts! awts! And if you are coveting a +7 or +up, be ready with 80m+ in your purse.
- Offer POLITELY. Barter when you don’t have enough penya and yet, have plenty of good items to trade on top of your penya. Bargain low, first –penya only. If you get a reply, then add an item, until you are able to reach a BATNA (Better Alternative To a Negotiated Agreement –awts, sorry for the economics lingo).
- THANK the seller afterwards. Whether you got the item or not, for it is always polite to say TY and is even easier than WTF! GTH! or AH!, right?
- SAVE ALL the penyas you can collect if you cannot afford the items you coveted for now; dont’ be lured into panic buying, you will regret it later.
- COLLECT ALL the items, like pots, lvl 6 dice, lvl 6-10 cards and penyas that other players ignore. Pooling them all and selling them at any NPC would eventually add-up to your savings;
- BUY LOW, SELL HIGH. That is, if you have the luxury of time. Buy items at low prices which you think (based on your canvassing, refer to nos. 3 & 4) are fast sellers and sell them for a profit; PD4’s can be bought from 140K to 195K and sells at 200K to 250K, lately;
- SELL GREEN & BROWN ITEMS at the market and NPC sell the others quickly to avoid cramming your inventory; Ooops! BTW, the BLUE ITEMS from CW -these are “PRECIOUS ITEMS” and very expensive, if you need ‘em -keep them. If not, sell them at the market not NPC, ok. (thanks Sniper & lammobangalangalam for pointing this out)
- COMPLETE all QUESTS, as soon as you get to the required level;
- KEEP QUEST ITEMS from mobs higher than your level, for you will be needing them on your future quests;
- SELL excess quest items ASAP! Start at the market, then NPC.
- GO BH and sell the loots!
- JOIN high level parties for the FC & GB skills -this would mean higher chances of getting green and rare items from mobs and giants. Weeee
- HELP those in need. Be a good Samaritan. You know what I mean? Help others so that when it is your turn to seek help, they will be there for you. Especially, be kind to those who give you that needed buff –share the loot my friend!
- AVOID SCAMMERS! Plenty of them at SM. PD4 sold for 2M or star candys at 1.5K each? Waaa. WTF! Sowee. Here’s some useful tips from archaven: 1) be careful not to get scammed; 2) check the ZeRoo0000es; 3) check the item for upgrades+++, piercing slots 1/4,2/4,3/4,4/4 and the item name, e.g., green sets armors have the same armor design as the the ones from NPCs..
Awts! Am really sorry, the list for DO’s went longer, now for the DON’T’S,
DONT’S
- DON’T BE GREEDY!
- DON’T OP!
- DON’T RETALIATE when treated badly during trading or leveling. Report the IGN to CS for DA;
- DON’T GET SCAMMED!
- DON’T BE RUDE!!! I believe that you can always say things in a nice way, no matter how offended you are. Let those rude players become an extinct class in ROIKA by not becoming one of them. So, are you one of us? Silly of course, one of the good guys!
Whew! That’s it. If you guys & gurls want to add something or you disagree on any of the above, feel free to post and suggest comments and/or amendments. Otherwise, don’t remain poor in Roika forever, BE KIND & COURTEOUS ALWAYS, and stop day dreaming! –my golly!Start with the DO’s now! And start buying those equipment of your dreams! Happy gaming.
Thanks ronnie6833 aka “the prof” for this guide!
