Getting Started
IMPORTANT!
Make sure you have the following before proceeding with the following steps. It’s a little bit tricky but not that hard.
- Ragnarok Online 2 Client Installer
- English Client Patch
- for Korean Normal client link
- East Asia Language Pack
- Applocale (if you encounter an error when running ro2 for the 1st time, you need this. Majority of the players are using this.)
- Proxifier (or other proxy software - optional)
- if your IP is blocked link
This guide assumes that you already have East Asia Language and Applocale installed. It is a pretty straight forward installation and is available from Microsoft’s website or from the links above.
Installing The Client
Step 1.1 Once you have collected all the required components, run setup.exe (unzip it first if you’ve downloaded a .rar file).

Step 1.2 Choose “English” as the installation language. Take note that this language selection is for the installer only not for the client itself.

Step 1.3 Be sure to agree with the terms. The next few steps are just standard configuration.

Step 1.4 You can use the default folder location but it shouldn’t be an issue if you choose an alternate location.

Step 1.5 Click install to finalize the installation.

Step 1.6 If you’re installation is succesfull you should have seen this, just click Finish.
NOTE:
This is a Korean Ragnarok Online 2 client. There’s no official english client yet, the english client we will be using is developed by another player. Almost 70% of the korean text are tranlasted into english.
Translating The Client
NOTE:
Create a back up copy (just in case you mess up your installation). This steps are optional but recommended.
Step 2.1 Make a back-up copy of ragnarok2.exe and data folder. Let’s say create 2 folders, name the first folder “Original” and the second folder “English”. Copy ragnarok2.exe and data folder, paste it to “Original” folder.
Step 2.2 Extract contents of ro2trans-LATEST.rar to “English” folder. Now copy contents of “English” folder to ragnarok folder (usually C:\Program Files\Gravity\RagII) and just click “Overwrite”.
Step 2.3 Test your client if it will work, if not. Follow the instruction below on how to configure applocale for your ro2 client.
Configuring Applocale
Some players where able to play ro2 even without Applocale installed, but this is a rare case. Most of the time you definitely need this software to play ro2.

Step 3.1 Delete the shortcut that was put on the desktop.

Step 3.2 Open your start menu and browse to Applocale.

Step 3.3 Open Applocale and select Launch application.

Step 3.4 Browse to your RagII folder on the applications box and select the Ragnarok2.exe

Step 3.5 Once you have selected that, just hit next and you will go to the language selection. IMPORTANT: This should automatically select Korean language if East Asian Language is installed, if not then you should install East Asian Language on your control panel first because the CLIENT WILL NOT WORK.

Step 3.6 Select “Always run application with Applocale” and hit finish. Just click “ok” if any dialog box appear. This will create the appropriate shortcut icon for Ragnarok that can be found at “Microsoft Applocale” submenu via “Start Menu”.

Step 3.6 Click “Yes” and the game client will now patch itself and may take up to 5 hours or even more to update so be patient.
Running The Game
If you are using applocale, run the game using the shorcut icon generated found at Start Menu -> Microsoft Applocale -> ragnarok2.exe. Once on the log on screen, be sure to select the gravity tab (encircled in red) and then enter your log in details.

Enjoy!
